E-EXHIBITION: BREAKTHROUGH FOR ALL ARTISTS

Change is not easy, but it is necessary as the dream of every young and upcoming artist is to stage series of Art exhibition to make their name known and also to make more end-meet so does the challenges and struggle to actualize this dream remain the high, from the expenses of renting the location or gallery, framing or packaging of the work, publicity and the list goes on, wait a minute I just had a successful and mind blowing exhibition myself with more than 4000 participant and about 100 peoples drop some comment and for the first time I felt great and encouraged that my career as an artist is brighter; In case I forgot, I never accumulate all the expenses I discussed above to stage this great exhibition. “Then how do you do it?” someone may ask, and my answer is simple IT (Information Technology) I just woke up one morning unprepared and login into an online forum called nairaland.com (I know most young folks like me know this popular Nigerian forum) I went to the art section, introduce myself bla..bla..bla.. and upload about 20 of my artworks from drawing to painting , that’s all.

In couple of day, about 3 days precisely, I hit the jackpot (just joking; I mean the FrontPage of the most visited forum - Most folk beg to have their post made the FrontPage) see the http://www.nairaland.com/1582211/life-artist if you care.

Although I was offline for some days (work and school things) and when I finally when I logon, then the ‘Wow’ has happen, I page has grown to about 3 pages, then I follow up to know what has happened, before I knew that my post has made the FrontPage I was filled with joy, so I took time to go through all the comments and to appreciate everyone, including the moderator.

The Lesson I learnt
The world is fast changing people a achieving more with less using technology as a major tool, I see no reason, why young and upcoming artist without the financial muscle and connection like me can’t enjoy wider exposure; just like the older ones. I strongly believe that with the use of technology many of these barriers will be reduced. I’m not disputing physical art exhibition but E-Exhibition is the new breakthrough in the Art world, with the help of IT, younger artist will have a lot to gain and at a reduce cost of just internet connection and a good web presences.

Bottom Line
Since I doubled as both an artist and computer scientist, I decided to put up this website, to help young and upcoming artist to enjoy some publicity for free who may not be easily accessibility using the traditional mean
