Otokpa Friday
Otokpa Friday hails from Benue state, Nigeria. He graduated from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with a Bachelor’s degree in Art specialising in painting. He has had a number of group shows and notable of such exhibitions are NGA exhibition, 2010, 2012. Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library art exhibition (OOPL) 2012, Art is everywhere 2010 and other group exhibitions.
He just concluded his Masters of Fine Art (MFA) degree in Painting in the same Zaria Art school where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree. He has a passion for figures as well as conceptual art, in that the duo informs his creativity as most of his paintings are human forms. On the said subject, Otokpa gets fascinated with children figures. He works basically in oils as a primary medium for self-expression and can also do with other media. He loves to capture and probe the minds of his viewers, giving them the best that art has to offer.
