IF YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND TO PURSUE A CREATIVE CAREER, PLEASE CHASE IT WITH ALL YOU€™VE GOT - DADI MOHAMMED

What motivates the creation of FinArt.com.ng is the give younger artist a platform to showcase there artworks without any limitations, this objectives was steered by the many challenges that this very talented young artist have to scale through to air their voice. I read a Facebook post by Dadi Mohammed and I felt it is worth sharing, to motivate younger artist.

If you're an aspiring creative in Nigeria, it’s a really tough stage to be on. The challenge of inadequate systems to foster what you do is a present reality, its tough getting adequate education and the list of insurmountable goes on and on. But everything on that list sits outside your sphere of control, in other words, there is nothing you could do to change them (at least for now) However let’s talk about the stuff in your hands. An amazing artist and an artist obsessed with his craft are almost the same thing (if not the same).

If YOU make up your mind to pursue a creative career, Please chase it with all you’ve got!, with passion, with desire. Chase it stubbornly; chase improvement of your craft with ungodly obsession. Geek out!!!!!. Live it, talk it, walk it, connect ideas even when you’re not physically making art, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. If you’re stuck, ask for help from people doing what you’d like to do. You’ll be amazed how willing people are to help. Please! You owe it to yourself also to reach the Maximum potential you can as an individual and as an artist. Our creative industry needs more obsessively passionate people, people who love what they do without permission or apology.

The world needs your unique artistic expression at the highest level you could express yourself in. it’s tough; it may be painful, heartbreaking and nerve wracking, it’s a lotta hard work and emotional labor, but it’s worth it, every bit worth it. Don’t lose faith.
In the words of Steve jobs “People with a lot of passion truly can change the world!” Please forgive my epistle. - Dadi Mohammed
